I know Christmas AND New Years has come and gone but I am still catching up in blog-land! Thankfully our Christmas break from school/work was pretty relaxing - it was originally pretty short so we didn't make any big plans for our time off other than the usual family celebrations for Christmas. We spent a lot of time at home, playing with new toys, games and watching movies. We got to spend New Years Eve with our best friends, as usual, and just have had a great couple of weeks.
We started off our Christmas break with another trip to the historic Crossroads Village for Christmas a Crossroads. We got lucky and it had snowed the day before so we had a winter wonderland to walk through and enjoy the beautiful lights and Christmas festivities. We started off with the 40 minute train ride to see the lights and sing carols then wandered the village for a couple hours. Its always a fun time and lots to see! It made a great start to our time off and the holiday fun!
There is an old one-room schoolhouse in the village which was great to see after reading about it in some of Sarah's American Girl doll books. She had just read about Rebecca having to wear a Dunce cap for getting in trouble to it was really neat for her to find this at the school!

Gorgeous pictures!
Last holiday, we went to a park near my dad's house to ride a little train and see so many incredible lights. This year, though, it was TOO COLD (at least relative to our Southern blood). I hated to miss it, but I was afraid we'd just be miserable.
Hoping the weather cooperates more next year for us!
I want someone to do my trees like that...
Love that beautiful tree
