Fun Fall Day

After a couple of very long, very busy and pretty rough weeks, I was very lucky to have a day off this past Friday along with my kids. Definitely a bonus of working in my local school district now is that I can enjoy the same days off as my kids instead of missing days with them or having to take off of work!

The kids had lots of ideas of what to do on our day off but since the sun was shining and the weekend's forecast included lots of rain, we decided to visit a local Pumpkin Patch for a hayride, treats and pumpkins. It was a crisp and cool fall day but we had lots of sunshine to enjoy. They each got to pick a small pumpkin from the field on our hayride, then we picked out bigger pumpkins for carving afterwards. We enjoyed yummy donuts, fresh out of the fryer, and fresh Apple Cider after seeing it made. We picked up some of our favorite apples and treated ourselves to yummy Caramel Apples, too!

Fun times!

Later that afternoon, we joined some of our friends for our school district's Homecoming Parade. We had lots of fun seeing many friends from school. The kids got TONS of candy (its like we've had Halloween already!) and it was a great way to end a fun day!

All the kids lined up to get candy! (3 sets of twins!)

 Here comes the marching band!

 Fun floats!

Beautiful tree right next to where we were sitting!

Hope you all had a great weekend, too!

Those pumpkin patch pictures are great! There's nothing that says FALL like a trip to the pumpkin patch, for sure! And how great is it that Adam is old enough to really enjoy it all, just like Sarah and Jacob? :)
