OMG...what GREAT weekends the past 2 weekends have been!! There's so many pictures to post and fun to share! Before I get to THIS weekend, I figured I better catch up to LAST weekend first and share pics of our night out at the Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker concert! Stay tuned for LOTS of fun pics to come!!!

Paul and I used to try to get to a few concerts a year before we had kids but once we had 2-3 little ones running around here, that obviously didn't happen much. We're finally getting out more and doing more things for ourselves again and caught our 3rd concert in less than 2 years last weekend. Paul surprised me at Christmas with tickets to see Lady Antebellum again - but this time with awesome tickets! We had floor 'seats' right up at the stage!
Our tickets said "6th row" but when we got there, we realized there were no seats and just general standing room at the stage. If we'd known that, we'd surely have gotten there earlier to get a little closer to the stage but we were still really close to it all! We weren't close enough to reach out and touch anyone on stage but could have if we'd wanted to push our way past people.
David Nail opened for them again and then Darius Rucker was up next. He was great and even sang some of his past Hootie and the Blowfish hits. Lady A put on another amazing show - they sold out the arena and there were over 14,000 people there! We saw them at a much smaller venue about 2 years ago for their Hello World tour so it was great to see them selling out a HUGE arena for their Own the Night tour!
I love Lady A's music and I'll say that Charles, their lead singer, is pretty easy on the eyes, too! ha! They are all very talented and their music is both fun and heartfelt. They seemed very genuine up on the stage - really trying to connect with the audience and truly grateful for being able to live their dream. They are a great act and everything sounded just great!
Before the concert, we had dinner at a very cool place called the Union Woodshop in Clarkston. Its been featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on The Food Network and is frequented by Kid Rock. They even have a signature drink called "Kid Rock N Rye" with Faygo pop! We hung out in the bar upstairs for an hour while waiting for a table (the place is VERY popular and busy these days...sometimes a 3+ hour wait!) and had a couple Kid Rock's Bad Ass beers in a mason jar. The atmosphere up there was pretty cool and the food smelled amazing! It was definitely worth the wait! We took dessert to go and had some yummy homemade Butterscotch pudding after the concert while we waited for some of the traffic to clear out of the parking lot. Yum!!
Who knows when and where our next concert will be but I love getting out for fun things like this again! We thought about trying to catch Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney this summer for their big tour...but at over $1,000 a ticket, we decided to pass!! yikes!!
What concert do you hope to catch this year??
