13 Things Thursday

1. My student teacher is doing a good job and has 3 more weeks left in my classroom...but the realization struck me yesterday that I'm ready to have my classroom and kids back!

2. My BFF's pregnancy is going well - she's 17+ weeks now! I'm so happy for her!!

3. On another baby note, my college roommate delivered her baby in January, almost 3 months early. Amazingly, he has had very few complications and is progressing like a champ! Go CJ!!!

4. I have had a bad head cold this week - all stuffy and runny nose. How is it that your nose can be stuffy AND runny at the same time?

5. I have a 'date' Sunday evening with another college friend - I can't wait! We're going out to dinner and I haven't seen her since the early fall.

6. We have a 3 day weekend thanks to Presidents Day this weekend! Yeah!!

7. I seriously need to put together my 80s costume for our Murder Mystery Dinner in a few weeks. Any suggestions what I should wear to look Totally 80s??

8. The kids got just as much candy as they did Valentine Cards this week - when did Valentines turn into Halloween? We have a candy jar FULL of treats again!

9. The kids have had Spirit Week at daycare this week. Monday was Western Day and I had to run to the store with Jacob and Sarah after I picked them up. They asked to wear their cowboy hats into the store and I said it was ok. Oh boy did they get a lot of comments! (I have to admit, they did look super cute - I even wished they had actual Cowboy boots instead of their winter boots at the time! ha!).

10. I have one last IEP this morning and then they'll all be DONE! Yeah! I have been very fortunate this year to have a good group of students AND parents and they've all gone really well.

11. I really want to finish my book this weekend for my book club, but whenever I try to read when I head to bed, I fall asleep too quick before getting much reading done. Its been really interesting and different. I'm supposed to lead the discussion on this one and I have lots of ideas of questions brewing in my head!


12. One of my new favorite authors died in a car accident this weekend. Jeffery Zaslow wrote The Girls from Ames and the new book, The Magic Room. He was on his way home from a book signing here in MI and his car slid on the icy roads and went head on into a semi. So sad. I plan to read The Magic Room next.

13. A good friend of mine at work likes to read as much as I do and we swap a lot of books. I love her random mid-day phone calls to chat quick about a book! She just finished Hunger Games and we plan to make a date of it to see the movie!
