Winter Sports

Jacob and Sarah have tried swimming lessons, t-ball, dance and gymnastics but its an easy pick which has been their favorite so far! I usually plan to sign them up for a couple gymnastics sessions in the winter time as its usually our 'quieter' time of the year (although that wasn't really the case this year...) and its a great indoor activity to do when they don't get outside as much due to the cold. November rolled around and they were ready to get back on the mats - jumping and tumbling! They just finished their first session and start another one next week. We've had a couple weeks break, which has been nice, but they are excited to get back in there next week.

I love seeing their skills and confidence build during each session. Sarah is so determined to master each new skill she's taught and gets SO excited when she knows she can do it! Jacob is working really hard and although he's not quite as limber as his sister (what boys are??), he isn't getting frustrated and he keeps trying. He even took a bad fall off the uneven bars on their last session and twisted his foot/ankle...but after some ice and a minutes to settle down - he got back up there and tried again! (He says he doesn't mind being the only boy either.)

I'm really proud of how hard they try and I love seeing their excitement when they know they've nailed it! Best of all - they have fun!

How I LOVED gymnastics as a child! Our two have picked activities that like you, I ADORE watching as their skills and confidence develop!

Thank you for playing along, Barb!

This is great. I'd love to get the Crazies into some gymnastics eventually!

Question: Do you ever feel like a weirdo taking pictures at these activities? I want to take pictures, but I feel like such a colossal dork and I can't figure it out!
