Week-end Wrap up

* I have been wanting to go to Ikea since we remodeled our living room and dining room last Spring. We finally went on New Years Day! Our shopping trip was successful as we came home with 2 new pieces of furniture for the rooms: a storage bench for the kids' puzzles/games and extra seating and a new side hutch to store over-sized serving dishes.

* Adam turns 3 a week from today. I am in such denial...my BABY cannot be 3 already!!

* I am LOVING my iPad! I've found a ton of apps already that I like for myself and for my kids and students but would love to hear from anyone else what your favorite apps are!

* I got a call from my principal the other day - asking me if I'd be interested in having a Student Teacher this semester! Part of me is really excited but the other half is really nervous! I'm hoping I can do a good job teaching her good practices and approaches. I'm also hoping I can relax as I have to give up control after a couple weeks, too!

* When the reality sank in that I'd be mentoring a new teacher, I immediately wanted to call MY supervising teacher from when I student taught 13 years ago! Patty is retired now but we still keep in touch. I did my general ed student teaching with her but she was an amazing mentor and friend. I hope I can be a positive influence like she was for me!

* I'm just a few chapters away from finishing the latest Book Club book. I think I'm going to skip the next one so I can read one of the many I have picked out from iBooks. I'm super excited to read a book on my iPad!

* We have tons of birthdays coming up! The kids have a party this weekend, Jacob has one next weekend, Adam's birthday is next week, Paul's is the next and my nephew's the week after that!

* I had a dentist appointment right before Christmas. I was bummed to find out I had a small cavity. It was only my 2nd one and the last one I had was when I was in high school I think (I'm not even sure!). I was really nervous about it but was very relieved that it wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. I'm also very thankful for the great Dentist and staff. I have to take all 3 kids in a couple weeks - it'll be Adam's first visit!

Have a great weekend!!

He's turning THREE???

Love those pieces...the finish is cool!

I would hate to give up control to a student teacher...hate it.

I never had a cavity growing up...not until I was about 25. Fortunately I haven't had one in the last 10 years...but I remember really clearly how nervous I was to get that one filled! Glad it wasn't too bad. :)

And wow! at the birthdays! I just love birthday celebrations...hope you enjoye!
