Robots

I blogged the other day about the Museum pass my parents got the kids for their birthday this year and our fun local children's museum that we've already been to a few times...but to make that pass even BETTER - it includes several other local museums! We took the kids to Sloan Museum for the first time in January to try to catch the Robots exhibit before it was done. There were Robots from the movie, scenes and lots of fun things to check out and play with! Some of it was over the kids' heads but there was plenty for them to see and do to keep them happy!

We figured we'd spend about an hour in the Robot exhibit and quickly walk through the rest of the museum which is mostly local history - nothing too exciting in the eyes of 3 and 5 year olds. Much to our surprise though - they'd recently renovated the middle section of the museum to incorporate more hands on kids play! It was like another children's museum in the middle of this museum! 2 large rooms full of fun things: a grocery store, a kitchen, a baby area and then another big room full of puzzles, board games, blocks, books, vehicles and more! It was awesome! The kids had a ton of fun in there and it was tough convincing them to leave! (My stomach was growling and we even promised a restaurant...but they wanted to keep playing!)

I'm really glad we made the trip, that it was FREE and we discovered the new kids area! We definitely plan to return very soon as the next exhibit is going to be about Dinosaurs!! Thanks again Mom and Dad for the great gift for the kids!! (excuse the low quality pics: cell phone in low lighting)
