Cool Runnings

We've really had very little snow so far this year. I think it snowed for only the second time all season about a week ago and that last time we got much snow was back in November. We finally got a few inches this week and Daddy has been trying to build up a sledding hill behind our garage where there's a small hill already. He's built up some pallets and dumped much of the snow that we've shoveled off of the driveway to add to the base and smooth it out. The kids have had a great time flying down the little hill - just the right size for our young ones!

Can you just hear that squeal of excitement?

He said he needed to close his eyes!

 Even Daddy took a ride!

OH, and I just have to show off my big helper. Jacob loves to help shovel! We have a couple kid-sized shovels that he does pretty well with and is always eager to help out. We didn't get to shovel our driveway until a day later this weekend so some of the snow was packed down and I  was using an ice scraper to get up some of the packed down snow and ice. Jacob wanted to help out with that too and he worked hard on scraping up the snow for quite some time! He told me he wanted to practice lots now so when he was bigger, he could help Daddy all the time!

And...as you can see here - we have a long driveway so that help will be greatly appreciated!!

Overall, we had a fabulous weekend - dinner out to celebrate Paul's birthday Friday night, a day with my family to celebrate birthdays on Saturday and then a leisurely Sunday at home, playing in the snow and doing laundry! Do I really have to go back to work today??

You know what does NOT Make my Monday though?? The fact that the temperature rose overnight and its pouring rain now so all our snow...and sled hill....is gone! Its currently 42 degrees but is supposed to be about 27 by the time I get back home from work tonight. Ick!

I love the looks of pure delight on your kiddos' faces! (And I've never thought about building a snow ramp before! We have snow so rarely...we just seek a neighborhood hill. HA!)

I'm glad you are recording Jacob's wishes to help...in case you need to reference them in about 10 years! ;)

So so sorry about your lost snow! :( We haven't even had a flake as yet, so the glimpses of your crew enjoying the white stuff COMPLETELY Make My Monday!

Thank you so much for linking up, Barb!

Oh wow, snow! You know, here we just do not see it. The Princess saw some in the berg this year from very far away - just on top of the peaks.
