Coffee Talk

I totally stole this from Rebecca and saved it for a day when I didn't have anything else on my mind to share...She's been doing this each week lately and I think these questions were from several weeks ago, but thought I'd toss it out there today after a busy day at work and not much to share.

Let's get to know each other a bit...here are some questions I would ask you if we were chatting over a cup of coffee:
1.  How did you meet your husband?
Paul and I met on a blind date, set up by my best friend and her (then) fiancee. We had a double date at Ruby Tuesdays. There was a crazy storm and a tornado warning while we ate. I was on crutches, just a month after ACL/knee surgery. We rode back to our friends house in almost silence. I wasn't sure there'd be a second date...let alone a future and family!

2.  What is the one thing in this world that calms you down instantly?
1 of 2 things - getting on the treadmill or elliptical and putting my all into it....and hugs, kisses and an "I love you, Mama" from Adam. He's so sweet and affectionate lately and totally melts my heart!

3.  What makes you feel more "put together?"  A manicure?  Pedicure?  Great outfit?
A nice outfit or my hair done nice. (Manicures never last and in the winter - pedicures are hidden!)
4.  Do you wear contacts or glasses?  Would you get Lasik if you could?
I mostly wear contacts but was recently told by my Optometrist that I should try to wear my glasses more as my eyes are showing signs of corneal neovascularization. Its minor at this point, but could get worse. That scares the crap out of me. I've worn contacts since I was in Jr. High and am rather vain in not wanting to wear my glasses all the time. I'm interested in Lasik but scared to death to have EYE surgery!

5.  If you wake up in the middle of the night, do you lay in your bed trying to go back to sleep?  Or do you get up and try to accomplish something?
I will myself to go back to sleep. I HATE waking up in the middle of the night. I'm usually a pretty good sleeper but also wake up easily if I hear the kids (like yesterday at 5 am when I head "Mommy! I threw up in my bed.")

6.  What is the most annoying thing in your house that you would totally get rid of if you wouldn't get caught?
About 95% of the toys around here (and all of my husbands 'stuff' in the den and garage!)

Crutches are always a "husband getter." You just look so sexy on them, right? Is that what he was thinking?

TOYS...just blogged about this!

I love these posts of Rebecca's...so fun to see your answers, too. I always tell Rebecca, though, it just makes me want to drive up and have coffee with you! ;)

That's crazy on the contacts note...I've never heard of that. I went through a period when we were TTC / pregnant / nursing where I couldn't wear my contacts (been wearing them since I was 13!). It was quite an adjustment, but I finally did well enough with the glasses.

I am so thankful to be back in contacts, but I do like my glasses, too. I even wear them sometimes because I want to / like the way they look. Try thinking about them as an accessory...get a really cool frame (or two)...and maybe that'll help! :)

Hope you have a great day!
