Christmas at Crossroads

We have a neat little historical village very close to where we live where you can walk through the gates and go back in time to some of the historical buildings from our area. They host a variety of special events through the year including A Day out with Thomas and Trick or Treating but one of my favorite things there is their Christmastime display!

We took a train ride to see all the beautiful light displays including a great display of the 12 days of Christmas. Santa himself was even along our path!  We sang Christmas carols and tried to guess how many lights were on the huge tree near the station!

We saw Santa, had some hot cocoa, ate some roasted pecans, saw a baby reindeer, and stood next to 2 enormous trees, full of lights! My favorite was definitely the Tree of Lights (below) but the other huge tree was beautiful, too!

We were lucky to have a dusting to snow to make it even prettier but it wasn't too cold to be out that night. We all had a great time and definitely plan to make this a tradition!

We visited a state park close to my dad's house, the week before Christmas. We took a little train ride through all their amazing lights, and then we walked around a bit afterwards. They have an "old town" component...but with log houses and blacksmith shops...really old! ;)

The girls LOVED it all, especially the train ride. I hope we can make it a tradition, too. Such great family fun.

Glad you had fun and got some great pictures, too! :)
